Frequently Asked Questions
How do I start therapy with you?
1
Schedule a telephone consultation.
Please call or email me to schedule a complimentary telephone consultation.
2
Attend your telephone consultation.
Ask me any questions you might have related to therapy and working with me. I will also ask questions related to your reasons for seeking therapy and what you hope to gain from therapy.
3
Determine fit.
At the end of our telephone consult, you and I will determine if we are a good fit and if I can competently address your needs. If I determine that I am not the best fit for you, I will provide you with referrals for other therapists who may better suit your needs. If we both agree to work together, we will schedule your initial intake appointment.

FAQs
What is therapy via telehealth?
Telehealth is a HIPAA-compliant method of meeting for therapy via a secure video conferencing platform such as Zoom for Healthcare, Doxy.me, or VSee. Telehealth is a wonderful tool that allows therapists and clients to meet virtually from the convenience of their home, office, or any other private space where you will not be disturbed. I encourage clients to ensure their privacy through the use of headphones, white noise machines, and ensuring they have complete privacy for their session as we may discuss emotionally difficult or sensitive information.
What can I expect from our first session?
The first appointment (the appointment after the telephone consultation) is called the intake appointment. This appointment is typically one hour in length and provides an opportunity for us to begin to build a therapeutic relationship. I will gather additional demographic information, historical and current information, and we will begin to identify your goals for therapy.
